Struggling Old Friends
For many years my mother suffered from severe depression. She was simply wasting away. Then she decided to volunteer her services as a Meals on Wheels cook and hopper. Within days she was a different person. Mom is now the manager of her branch and she has never been happier.
The twilight years. A time that, in an ideal world, should be spent surrounded by loved ones. A time that should be filled with reminiscences, delicious lunches and easy afternoons. A time that – in many people’s lives – is the first they’ve had to put their feet up, after a lifetime of work, stress and trying, against all odds, to be the best they can be.
