| Struggling Old Friends |

We have a very old and a very poor couple who live next door to us. For a few years now they have had meals delivered to them by the Meals on Wheels volunteers. They are always telling us how much they appreciate the meals and all the other help that they receive. My wife and I consider it a great privilege to be able to support this most admirable humanitarian cause.

The twilight years. A time that, in an ideal world, should be spent surrounded by loved ones. A time that should be filled with reminiscences, delicious lunches and easy afternoons. A time that – in many people’s lives – is the first they’ve had to put their feet up, after a lifetime of work, stress and trying, against all odds, to be the best they can be.
